Instructions

Materials

  • 4 mm hook;
  • Approximately 3 metres of yellow cotton double–knitting yarn, eg Rowan DK handknit cotton shade 304 (sunflower);
  • Approximately 2 metres of green cotton double–knitting yarn, eg Rowan DK handknit cotton shade 306 (lush);
  • 1 round magnet approximately 3″ (7 cm) in diameter;
  • craft glue.

Foundation chain

With yellow yarn chain 6.

1st round

1 dc in 2nd chain from hook.

1 half–treble in next chain.

1 treble in each of next 2 chain.

6 treble in last chain.

(Continue working in back loops of chain)

1 treble in each of next 2 loops.

1 half–treble in next loop.

1 dc in next loop.

Chain 2. Slip–stitch into 1st dc.

2nd round

(Chain 1. Slip–stitch into next stitch) 13 times.

Fasten off yellow.

3rd round

Join green yarn with a slip–stitch to the chain-space at top of pineapple.

Chain 4. Slip–stitch into 2nd chain from hook and into each of next 2 chain. Slip–stitch into same chain–space.

Chain 5. Slip–stitch into 2nd chain from hook and into each of next 3 chain. Slip–stitch into same chain–space.

Chain 6. Slip–stitch into 2nd chain from hook and into each of next 4 chain. Slip–stitch into same chain–space.

Chain 5. Slip–stitch into 2nd chain from hook and into each of next 3 chain. Slip–stitch into same chain–space.

Chain 4. Slip–stitch into 2nd chain from hook and into each of next 2 chain. Slip–stitch into same chain–space.

Fasten off.

Making up

Fix magnet to pineapple with craft glue.
